What is a convex lens? A convex lens helps farsightedness or hypermetropia. Farsightedness happens when a person's eyeball is too short and the light rays go past the retina. A convex lens concentrates the light rays, letting them hit the retina. An example picture would be found here. What is a concave lens? A concave lens helps nearsightedness or myopia. Nearsightedness occurs when a person's eyeball is too long and the light rays don't hit the retina. A concave lens expands the light rays, letting them go far enough to hit the retina. A picture can be found here. |
