Plasma has an interesting purpose...
Many scientists think that plasma may someday solve the earth's energy problem. When you join two small atomic nuclei (plural of nucleus) together, you get a tremendous amount of energy. The only problem with this form of electricity would be that the fusion of these atoms creates so much heat that no container can hold them. Using magnets, a magnetic bottle can keep the plasma away from the edges of the bottle and inside, so it won't blow up, but still will be held and kept hot.
